Republicans want you poor, stupid, sick and scared.

Stop voting for dicks.

“The term ‘deregulation’ suggests a reversion to a pre-existing system of nonregulation, a realm in which state authority is absent. But this is a fantasy. There is no pre-legal, law-free realm. There is always regulation, albeit sometimes invisible and private, and hence unaccountable.”

🚨 💰 WOW — @SenatorHagerty & @MarshaBlackburn snuck a provision into the spending bill that would let them sue the government for $500,000 because Jack Smith looked into their phone records around Trump’s insurrection.

Moderates are caving because the shutdown is uncomfortable, and the definition of being a moderate is not being willing to take a principled, uncomfortable stance on anything.

My entire life Republicans’ game has been to stymy, undercut & undermine when Democrats have power so they can point to the resulting failings as evidence progressive policies are dysfunctional & then they get power & aggressively gut every social gain & Dems are still like ‘maybe we can negotiate’

If Republicans are so committed to ending Medicare/Medicaid fraud, why does Trump keep pardoning healthcare execs found guilty of millions and sometimes billions in Medicare/Medicaid fraud?

Senator Marshall was an ob/gyn. I’m sure he never just carried malpractice insurance for the heck of it but waited until one of his parients filed a malpractice suit against him to shop around for it. 🙄 He is trying to justify killing the ACA to folks he hopes don’t know any better.

A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

If worker pay grew at the same pace as CEO pay, today’s typical worker would make a staggering $431.80 per HOUR (including benefits).
Instead, today’s typical worker makes $36.49 per hour — while CEOs make 280 times that on average.
The system is rigged.

Are we great yet?

Our healthcare is out of reach and our vaccines will be less available and effective.
The US withdrawal from WHO could impact the flu shot.

Flu samples sent to CDC from around the world are down 60% this year, as of July.

"When those viruses are not coming in, we don't know what to put in the vaccine, and you're going to have less effective vaccines."
Why next year's flu shot might not be as good as it should be
America's withdrawal from the World Health Organization is affecting the ability of U.S. scientists to track flu and other pathogens. That could be a blow to the development of the 2025 flu vaccine.
