A Black lady using social media for social change. I heard you were looking for me.
So basically conservatives would prefer a Republican who's a pedophile over a Democrat who's not.

So let's ask these Democrat Senators directly-what did the healthcare corporations promise YOU if you caved?
Must've been a pretty good buyout. 👀

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Reopen government, swear in Adelita Grivala, release the Epstein Files, restore healthcare subsidies, and fund SNAP.

Being on SNAP benefits for 17 years, I've NEVER been told I wouldn't be paid my benefits. NEVER. What is going on is BEYOND cruel. The ppl w/disabilities, ppl w/chronic illnesses & cancer, seniors already isolated, the 16M hh's w/children. WE REFUSE TO BE A NUMBER. WE ARE PEOPLE. WE DESERVE DIGNITY.

It’s another example of how hierarchy is more important for analyzing these folks than hypocrisy, I think, because they have an explicit hierarchy of whose spiritual practices (and for what purposes) should be allowed in public space.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

87 votes was the margin of victory in Marietta, GA.

You can't cook and that's why you're bitter about the mom getting food stamp money.
She gets $300 a month for food. Your job gives you twice that much and you're still serving crock pot slop to your kids. Her secret isn't "government handouts"- it's garlic powder.
