Love the outdoors and used to love getting out into my local Sussex countryside with my camera. Now it’s mostly memories.
Oh, I recognise this town! Lived and worked there for many years, but before the Pied Wagtail roost. Mind you, it was also the town where I saw Waxwings for the first time, when I dashed out during my lunch break to see a flock stripping a tree in a front garden.

Makes me twitch when people pronounce niche incorrectly. Seems to be mostly a U.S. problem.

😢 Gone, so needlessly. Never forgotten. 💔

I’ve been told that regardless of the results, that minor procedure should be all that’s necessary. It’s all been dealt with extremely quickly by the #NHS and I’m so very thankful for that. And yes, my ex-nurse partner is always vigilant!

Something that always warmed our hearts was that Kinsey didn’t once cry after leaving her parents and siblings. Not one apparent moment of homesickness of loneliness. From the moment we set off home with her in our car, she just settled with us.

It looked a lot worse than it felt! Not sure if it was skin cancer or a wart, so am awaiting biopsy result.
My lip was quite swollen for a few days but there was very little discomfort.
Now I can just about eat and drink normally again, just two stitches to go. Almost healed now. Thanks for asking!☺️

Taking Flight is the history of flight in the animal kingdom. Insects, pterosaurs, birds, bats. Shortlisted – to the bemused astonishment of anyone who ever taught me science – for the Royal Society Science Book Prize.

It was stunning, wasn’t it? And gone in moments. #Sussex

Exploding with sound on fences or scurrying busily in the undergrowth…

I did! Due to using walking sticks and having to look down I didn’t see many birds but certainly heard a few - including the Water Rail! But looking down means I see more by my feet!

We’re all getting older, but it’s particularly cruel seeing our dogs aging so quickly, compared with our own lives. Blaze has had such a full life, though. I bet his dreams are full of wonderful memories. Such a lucky dog, to have been so loved, and to be loved still, in his old age. ❤️

Thanks for the warning! Glad I visited yesterday!

I didn’t know I travel along a Roman road every time I go along the A27 near Glynde, so that’s at least once a week. So much history beneath our feet.

Yes, I saw that. Hopefully it’ll become a permanent fixture 🤞🏼.
