Looks like you can "hit the radio waves" after all, although it reached peak popularity over a decade ago, so your fear was not totally unfounded 🤓

Just listening to your latest podcast. Interesting listening, both from a writer's standpoint & from a point of empathy.

👇This is so important, but so many people seem to miss it!

That's just it. You don't. You are THE public broadcaster. No other body shares your mission. Why add to the noise?

The BBC has an opportunity to say "you've heard all the breathless gossip - tune in at 6pm for the facts". To bring light rather than heat.

Just finished the latest episode of QR, and may I be the first to nominate Mr Andreou as the new BBC Head of News? Alex, your idea to have the corporation abandon its frantic and frazzling rolling 24hr news output in favour of a more poised and measured approach hits several nails on the head.

@sturdyalex.bsky.social I made the unhappy acquaintance of the Daily T podcast earlier today. Is it just my imagination, or are Tim Stanley and Camilla Tominey determined to rewrite the history of January 6th? They seem to think Trump had little or nothing to do with the attack on the Capitol 🤦🏻‍♂️

Farage wanting to kick people out of the country because they migrated here made me angry and made me think about which best of British people and things wouldn't have happened were it not for the brilliance of immigration to the UK.

@lbc I haven't been able to listen to LBC live for many months. Imagine my glee, therefore, when I get to hear @mrjamesob.bsky.social doing live commentary of Marine One landing at Windsor Castle 😁

This is a thoughtful, persuasive piece that needs to be widely read.

In the current scenario we need more people speaking out like this, illuminating rather than generating more heat.
"I need you to understand what this country feels like to those of us who look different, because only then might you glean what those flags going up signify to someone like me.

They are a preemptive claim over contested space." - writes @sturdyalex.bsky.social.

I've written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, urging them to join me in condemning Elon Musk's dangerous remarks inciting violence yesterday.

As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.

Should we follow Putin out of the ECHR?

Or is it just another Brexit where we give up our rights in the vain pursuit of making migrants disappear?

I listen to a ton of podcasts. I appreciate that you cover parts of the UK - for example Northern Ireland - which, as far as other shows are concerned, barely appear to exist. You are both calm and funny. You have pulled off the trick of being very well informed but, crucially, accessible. Bravo.
