They don’t announce they are going to suspend the constitution they just stop following rule of law. No one is going to tell you “this is the moment they’ve suspended the constitution” in effect we are already in the space where that has happened and we need to start to act like it as a population.

This whole thread. One of the drums I consistently bang on is the idea that the majority of “civility” requirements is code for “the way we hurt you is polite and therefore allowed and you may not complain; the way you hurt us is rude and boorish and therefore you do not matter.”
It’s so interesting to see these urgent exhortations to reestablish decorum. I have not seen evidence of a “coarsening” of American society. If anything, the opposite: I’ve seen thousands of individuals asserting their humanity and protesting the indignity of the system UHC profits from.

The corporate response to the murder of the UnitedHealth CEO appears to be security teams for executives. No changing policies, no reduction in greed, just bodyguards. This isn’t sustainable, and radical change is the only viable path forward.
