Many things to many people. Naturally restless elder Millennial working for organized labor. Occasional craftswoman; avid stress-baker; gardener. Ex-PhD student. Frequent birder & reader. In a complicated relationship with New Jersey. 🌈🌹🧶🖋️📚
Real life climate change horror story: can no longer eat dairy or mammal meat due to a tick bite. Did not eat much red meat to begin with. But allergies to dairy!?!?!? BRUTAL. Had hives from Cheez Its and then an anaphylactic reaction to mac and cheese. 0/10. Do not recommend.

We lost my father to #ALS on May 19th. Respiratory-onset. I have been wandering around in a grief-riddled daze. In January of 2024, he was still winning tennis matches. By May of 2024, he couldn’t get up and down the stairs. How does anyone process this disease? How does it ever make sense?

Workplace sabotage is a lost art.
I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

The most backwoods thing I have ever done is going down next month.

I come from people who used to eat muskrat: a local delicacy. My spouse has long wanted to try it, but it’s hard to come by. You gotta know a guy.

MUSKRAT GUY ACQUIRED. Next step: coordinating the handoff! #weirdnj #xmasmuskrat

A word of wisdom about making scratch pie crusts from my mom, who taught home economics for 33 years: if the dough doesn’t look or feel right, throw it out, have a glass of wine, and start over. Repeat until you either get it right or are too tipsy to care. #baking #piecrust

Before & after. I think my favorite part of #knitting may actually be the blocking. This is why I like sheepy, rustic yarn— blooms beautifully.

Star Anise pattern by Svetlana Volkova, worked in BC Garn Semilla Melange (100% organic wool). I messed up a few times but somehow it still looks good!

Husband (a master mechanic) is teaching me to work on cars via our “new” 1990 Dodge Dakota, named Darlene. Developing a new appreciation for my #UAW fam who built her: Darlene spent almost 35 years as a sparingly-used farm truck and she’s still in surprisingly good shape, all things considered.
