If you receive an illegal order, you have a duty to disobey.

This isn’t controversial.

A President calling for the execution of anyone who reminds service members of this oath is showing us why the duty to disobey illegal orders is so important in the first place.

At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

The American people will choose their government in November 2026 and woe be unto anyone that tries to get in the way of that.

The more I think about it the more I feel like the democrats aren’t making out too bad here. They get an ACÁ vote to get Republican senators on record, SNAP is funded for a full year, government workers get their back pay and some breathing space, and Democrats can pick this back up in

Looking at the GOP acting electorally suicidally and saying “they’re not acting like they’re planning on having elections” is like watching someone driving 90mph at a brick wall and being like “wow they must have figured out a way for this not to kill them.”

I've given my new Senator a lot of shit on here. But I don't think anyone with power has laid out the stakes of what we're facing as clearly as she does right here.

And if she's saying this, it's because she feels she must.

I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

As a gay, reading the examples of posts I can’t help but find them milquetoast at best. I laud the efforts to change the culture of using gay as a stand in pejorative but it seems like cancel culture in the worst spirit to say these comments preclude him from ever being an ally.
SCOOP: Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner apologized for homophobic language and antigay slurs he admitted to writing on Reddit in an interview with me this afternoon, after I confronted him on comments I discovered from as recently as 2021.

No, when the military is killing it means things have gone wrong. This guy has no understanding of a true warrior ethos. The fact that he kept saying "we" like he is still in uniform was offensive by itself.

An instantly-leaked internal bulletin at the politicized federal law enforcement agencies just so happens to say what the Trump admin and its allies want it to say.

This is how it works in authoritarian regimes, the cops are too busy with propaganda and repression to actually solve crimes.

Even if the outcome is the same -- the Republican majorities + Trump get what they want -- I think there is value in *performing* opposition, in two ways. First, it motivates the base. Second, it dramatizes the conflict to draw the attention of the politically inattentive.
