One thing that bothers me tonight in particular is how so much of this is happening because of grand and sweeping capitulation by the media, by companies, by Congress, by people in power. Even when they don’t have to — they simply comply, acquiesce, and appease.

It's hard to argue against the fact that our current economic and political climate is a direct result of the “Citizens United” decision by SCOTUS in 2010.
Politicians are no longer accountable to their constituents.
They now work for the largest donors.

i went to the library for the first time in a while and borrowed Way more books than i'll be able to read lol. i completely forgot you can just go inside a building and be engulfed in unfathomable amounts of knowledge from places you can't even imagine. IT WAS SO EXCITING
