Today I’m making and canning a huge batch of navy bean, ham and vegetable soup. Had to dig a few things from the freezer, but everything but the beans and ham came from our garden. Lots of warm soup ready for Fall! 😋

Granted the remodeling my company does is for very high end clients. But, even for my world this is insane. Six light fixtures being shipped from NY State. Shipping is almost $600. Are they chartering a limo?

My Queen, my Princess, my Morgan, my sweet baby naked girl might be losing her right eye. I cannot even fathom this right now. Last week she appeared to have an eye infection. Nope, torn cornea. Now there is a black spot on the surface. Meeting w ophthalmologist surgeon vet tomorrow. Breaking me.

Today’s little haul. I’m puzzled by the pumpkin. One vine died back and turned brown with just the 1 pumpkin on it like it was October? So I’m planting two more! And isn’t that the most beautiful eggplant you’ve ever seen!! Rosa Bianca. So lovely!

Holy crap my son’s hot pepper has at least 50 peppers already! Thai Dragon has a Scoville of 50-100k units! 🔥🧯Later this summer we are going to bottle sauce together! I am going to create labels w his name on them!!! Still working on the name!

I might put up more later this summer, but for two people I think this is a years worth of jam. Strawberry, strawberry/rhubarb, blueberry, blueberry/tarragon and a candied pepper I had forgotten about. If I see nice peaches at the farmers market I’ll add that and a mint for Easter. 😋

Had such a random assortment of garden veggies. Squash beans taters radishes carrots onions kale and chard. Made beef stew for dinner. Not exactly a summertime dish after 5 days + 100° but hey - my kitchen my rules! 😂

Help! Seeded two delicata winter squash along w 6 other varieties. One is growing delicata. The other is growing the monster on the right. It’s not a butternut. Totally different leaves and no tendrils. I’ve looked at every chart I can and bupkis! I think it’s a crossed seed I got by mistake?

Yesterday I got lucky w 2.5lbs of salmon for $20. Cut into filets I will fold to even thickness. That’s dinner for 3, a dinner for 2, and 2 stackable sections for a Fall Wellington for three. Add rice and a veggie, that’s less than $10 per meal vs $120 at a restaurant. Buy in bulk learn to freeze!

Five weeks ago I received some cuttings from a neighbor’s two fig tree varieties. Five weeks of patience, rooting hormone and a cup later, I’ve grown a tiny fig tree! The two larger ones are starting roots as well! They will be houseplants for a year. But good things come to those who wait. ❤️

OMG you guys!!! Living in my own world I thought Father's Day with THIS Sunday! I had already planned and purchased his favorite dinner foods for the weekend! Tonight was bacon cheese smash burgers, then chicken parm with homemade baguette, then flank steak all with salad from the garden!

Encouraging the squash to produce more I picked the first patty pan and round zucchini. They are so buttery at this stage. Also rescued a fallen Roma. While out there grabbed some kale dill cilantro and basil to encourage more growth! My happy place. 💕😋

OMG! For father's day I ordered this bc hubs mentioned how nice it would be to sit by the pool in the evening and read comfortably. It just arrived. A) it's in three boxes bigger than I can lift. B) they dropped it in the center of the driveway where he parks. C) pic is on the box! SURPRISE! NOT!😂
