The Toronto Blue Jays are currently facing the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.
But this isn't the first time a Canadian team has met the Dodgers in the playoffs.
Back in 1981, the Montreal Expos took on the Dodgers in the NLCS.
This is the story.

Forest restoration in Afghanistan
Nuristan province, located in northeastern Afghanistan along the border with Pakistan, is among the country’s most mountainous and forested regions. Rangeland dominates the landscape and covers almost half of the province (468 145 hectares), providing extensive grazing areas across steep valleys and highland pastures. Forests and shrubland cover more than a fifth of the province (212 103 hectares), making Nuristan one of Afghanistan’s richest regions in terms of natural vegetation and biodiversity (FAO landcover 2024). To address deforestation and land degradation, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), with financial support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), is implementing a program of afforestation, reforestation, and livelihood development measures. Under the forest rehabilitation component, 110 720 saplings of walnut, pine nut, and pine have been planted across 964 hectares of degraded land, supported by the construction of 10 water reservoirs to ensure reliable irrigation for the new plantations. In parallel, FAO has supported the plantation of a total of 86 730 fruit saplings (almond, peach, cherry, and sweet orange) across 288 hectares of farmland.
