I forgot to tag @aquariumdrunkard.com in my post. Their recent run of dub related posts is what prompted me to crank up Arkology today.
Today is a good day for 4 hours of dub / reggae from the King of Dub, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry.

With O'Neill (apparently) taking over CDC (if they ever get around to firing Monarez), I think it's worth looking back to Project 2025 and asking what they actually intend to *do* to CDC. So, I went to remind myself today. Here's what's in store:

Aquarium Drunkard hits the mark again, highlighting this 1978 classic.
Augustus Pablo :: East of the River Nile

aquariumdrunkard.com/2025/08/21/a...

East of the River Nile is a masterpiece of haunting and hazy ambience from Augustus Pablo whose plaintive melodica leads waft through these dubbed-out instrumentals like fragrant and heady strains of ganja mist.

I think it’s high time we take back the national narrative. For centuries Americans of all races, genders, religions, and abilities have worked to create a more perfect union, and we should shout from the rooftops that WE are America. Not these idiot white supremacist authoritarians.

Paramount just paid Trump a bribe for merger approval. When Democrats retake power, I’ll be first in line calling for federal charges. In the meantime, state prosecutors should make the corporate execs who sold out our democracy answer in court, today.
Paramount agrees to pay Trump $16 million, clearing way for multibillion-dollar merger

Me too. The slander, lies, and debasing rhetoric, combined with the “only I can fix it” boasting, is straight-up authoritarianism/fascism. The death of our democracy in real time. I, for one, will not be silent. Silence = Acquiescence.

On that note, I sincerely hope you all have a great day!

The cruelty of MAGA has no bottom. Treating the confinement of thousands in a hot, humid swamp is beyond my comprehension. Selling merchandise to fundraise off their pain? That’s vile, disgusting, and revolting. I wonder if Hitler sold merchandise branded with Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Treblinka, etc.?

So far, the best predictor for Supreme Court decisions is to ask, what would the Christian nationalists want? The Court will deliver. It almost does not matter what the actual text, precedent or logic would indicate.

It’s a failure of journalism to do shit like this. Donald Trump has said that something will happen “within two weeks” at least 5,000 times in the past decade with easily over 4,900 of those “deadlines” passing with no action.

This is serious, rigorous analysis and it should change the way the media has been covering these protests. These were, in the aggregate, *massive.*
Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!

Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels
"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions
Our unofficial estimate is that around 4 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.
