Introduce yourself with 5 cars you've owned.

XJ6 4.2
Audi 80 Sport
BMW 320i
VW Beetle (old school)
Renault 5

All used, the 1970's XJ cost £500 back in 1990 and fuel was cheap!

Austin Princess.
Volkswagen Polo
Nissan Almera
Nissan Note
Kia Ceed

All a bit boring, the Note was the perfect car for me though, had it for over a decade.
Current Kia is the most pleasant car I've ever driven nothing spectacular, just very nice.

FFS, having a pet pony is just a hellish endless worry about whether to rug and which rug. It will always be wrong.

Contentious opinion: I don't see the point in cake. It's just meh, there are so many nicer things to eat yet cake is still the centre piece of celebrations. I just don't get it.

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

People who believe themselves to be IT literate and tell you so, seriously aren't and IT literacy in school leavers has fallen dramatically over the last 5 to 10 years.
What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

There’s only a limited number of metaphors that work for the Trinity and we have an annual rite of passage where we abuse all trainee priests by forcing them to try and find a new one
What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

Unless you seek it out, most professors don't learn how to teach. It's not part of the job requirements. The idea is that you're an expert in your field and that's Enough.

Why do phones not have the option to schedule a pause for alarms? I will spend this long weekend paranoid that I will forget to reactivate my alarm.

I have a new bestie, this is Hamish. (Yes I know he is Welsh not Scottish but that's the name he came with and he can be a wee furry cunt, in a lovable way)

Superb work.

This is still a big concern in FE which missed out on the the recent and well-deserved 5.5% pay uplift afforded to school-teachers.

Real-terms investment in FE is well below what it was in 2010 & a thriving FE sector is essential for delivery of the government's 5 Missions.
Official data shows recruitment to teacher training in England is a long way below target. Slight improvements on last year, but levels remain below pre-pandemic

- 38% below target for secondary overall
- 12 out of 17 subjects below respective targets
- 12% below target in usually-reliable primary
