Y'know that Guardian article which cited an anonymous friend of Tyler Robinson claiming he was the only "leftist" in his family?

It just got updated after the "verified source" decided he couldn't remember his "relationship" with the accused shooter well enough to be quoted

Why did the crowd rush to get out of there today but when Trump got “shot” they sat there like he was just doing the YMCA again?

Something about ol' Johnny Cash covering this song is pretty perfect. (Music makes sense to me, it always has. I don't care about stupid maga nonsense.)

Provocateurs have ever been an issue.

Don’t accept any excuse for further expansion of state violence.

It changes the narrative away from the Epstein -> Thiel -> Goldman Sachs -> … thread that had traction yesterday
Amazing how those democratic lawmakers who were hunted down in their homes in the middle of the night in Minnesota weren’t a watershed moment of political violence, huh?
The assassination of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk marks a watershed moment in a surge of US political violence, one that some experts fear will inflame an already-fractured country and inspire more unrest reut.rs/41PWH4l

Sad to see the news of the death of Pope Francis, whose goodness inspires me, I hope the Church stays the path the set.
In the clearest departure from the U.S. political class, Pope Francis wrote that “it is absurd to permit the continued exploration and expansion of fossil fuel infrastructures."

Published June 2, 2023:
The Vatican Is Way Ahead of the Democratic Party on Climate Change
Pope Francis’s recent draft text demands climate reparations and an immediate end to fossil fuel exploration. Why can’t the Biden administration do the same?

1/2: We have reason to believe that events on 4/19 and/or the 50501 Movement may be misrepresented by the Trump admin in an attempt to justify the use of military force.

Let us be clear: our movement is pro-democracy and firmly grounded in non-violence.

Among the most striking things I saw today were passing drivers who didn't simply give a polite honk in support, but pumped a fist out the window with their whole body, visibly excited to see people out there.

Because a protest shows there is something to be done, and people to do it with you.
Protest changes the permission structure. It says fascists will not be allowed to proceed unencumbered. And if you didn't think there was anything to be done, a protest shows you many think otherwise.

ok so!!! something I found really interesting after talking to Korean protesters was... well, it was actually me realizing something about protest in the US: protest is trapped in an unwinnable spiral about "peaceful" versus "violent" protest, and even people
who know it's dumb can't break free
Deeply weird seeing people try to paint the protests in South Korea as family friendly parties when the one that stopped the original coup featured girls doing karate moves on riot cops and guys in the legislature spraying special forces units with fire extinguishers

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Seizing people and shipping them to a foreign prison without charges or a hearing is not "law and order." It's the opposite of that. It's what a dictatorship looks like.

The Massachusetts governor, the city, and the university needs to drop everything to locate and free this girl and make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is DEFCON-1. If they do this to someone who wrote an op-ed in a college newspaper, they will do this to anyone they don't like.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.
