Jim Ryan’s account of his forced resignation as UVA President makes plain the depth of misconduct and bad faith the faculty have long suspected of the BOV. Every member of the UVA community should read this letter and appreciate the need for new leadership.

Always take sentences using “the Cloud” or “the Internet” and try replacing those phrases with “A shed in Virginia” to see how they hold up. “Our service is fully based in a shed in Virginia”; “All my files are in a shed in Virginia”; “A shed in Virginia was designed to survive a nuclear war”, etc.

This is a watershed moment.

Everyone who benefits from higher education should be deeply concerned.

Ryan was a moderate who presided over one of the more conservative institutions of higher education.

He followed the law when it comes to DEI. But that wasn't enough. Trump demands absolute fealty.

If you're fan of transit-oriented development (TOD) because it will ⬆️ridership, you should really be focused on antidisplacement efforts (esp from ⬆️ rents & property taxes for existing residents) & *equitable* TOD, with substantial deep affordability built-in. Otw, you may lose your ridership base.

Me: idk, I feel like the Samuel L. Jackson bits were maybe too heavyhanded, we don’t need the subtext spelled out for us, the audience is smarter than that

Me after reading several insane takes about the halftime show: I think maybe the Samuel L. Jackson bits were not heavyhanded enough
