I got laid off today, but I'm happy about it. It's been the wildest week already. This is the beginning of my next life!

All in one day, I slightly burned one finger, got a deep paper cut on another, and was bitten by a mosquito on a third. Two days later the worst by far is the mosquito bite.

This album always gets me. One of alternative music’s greatest pieces of artistry. A masterpiece of music making. Jeff Mangum a flawed weirdo musical genius? Probably.

The new bill in Congress puts a new tax on wind and solar. They’re taxing clean energy to give your money to billionaires.
The most intense part of this bill is a new excise tax on wind and solar projects above FEOC content threshholds (!!!)

Given the sprawling nature of FEOC, that might pull in all sorts of projects with unmanageable new tax liability

Tax the sun, tax the wind eh #energysky

Republicans are now suddenly planning to TAX renewable energy, transforming the repeal of the IRA from a challenge to a full-blown crisis for American solar and wind.

I spent the last 24 hours putting this story together to explain why.

Please share! This is really important!!!

How the Senate GOP’s New Tax on Renewables Could ‘Kill’ the Industry
As bad as previous drafts of the reconciliation bill have been, this one is worse.

This is a bonkers amount of money. It’s ~three times~ the annual budget of NASA.
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

Republicans don’t want you to notice — but buried in their cruel bill is a quiet repeal of the ACA.
Millions could lose healthcare. We stopped this before. We must stop it again.

Why do we all agree to talk about the tariffs as though other countries are paying them? WE will pay them. They are a tax on American consumers.

Of all the deliberate evil going on in the world right now, ramping up fossil fuel usage is still the one that makes me lose my mind. All future life is teetering on a razor's edge and some folks want to give it a push. Nothing more stupid or cruel has ever, ever been done.
