We’ve had a train stationary at the back of our house for 8-ish hours. Seems there was a failure of a coupling between two of the freight cars (carriages?) The forward portion reversed to re-couple about an hour ago. Still sitting there but seemingly making get up and go noises. Long day for driver.

So to avoid AI, we (owners of older iPhones) simply don’t install 2025 software updates? I hope it’s that easy to avoid….
i'm sorry it's still just gobsmacking that the most popular phone maker in the world just decided to switch on a "good enough" machine in all of our devices which we trust for information about the most important and intimate parts of our lives.

Cooking dinner and listening to Dire Straits Love Over Gold. (I was reminded of it recently.) “Amazing production & playing, etc” I’d recalled from way back then. Sigh. Yes it’s okay, but it made me think I’d rather have someone who picks more subtly & melodically & found solace in Richard Thompson

Quite an idea. For “everyone” to want to do this, surely we’d have to be at the tipping point of an anti-capitalist revolution globally?
Ok hear me out: what would happen if everyone cancelled their insurance en masse? Health, home and contents, etc. This is my potentially poorly thought out hypothetical.

I’ve heard of you feed your local birds, or have chooks, you’ll inevitably get mice and/or rats. This then attracts snakes and/or kookaburras. Current watching this play out in a nearby backyard. Rat harassing bunnies (frolicking once chooks are cooped) with a kookaburra looking for an opportunity.
