Totally true - I see it every day in my clinic. So many complex reasons for this - lack of safe play spaces, transport, food poverty, literacy, cooking skills, screen time, sugar/fat laden foods, higher volume of fast food outlets in more deprived areas etc etc
There is a strong association between deprivation and #obesity in children.
For both reception and year 6 children in 2022/23, the prevalence of obesity in the most deprived areas was double the value in the least deprived areas.
