Eel Facts Advent Calendar. Not just for advent! Got for my 81yr old Mum & 19yr old daughter. Mum txts each daily fact to family group chat and they are awesome!!
Advent is a mere 3 weeks away!

Consider this. Who in your life...
needs to know more about eels?
feels joy in learning?
likes the ocean?
needs a little treat?

You should send them an Eel Facts Advent Calendar!

Sales support @skypeascientist.bsky.social and it's just plain fun!

Awe man. Two [murmur] signs aka [murmure] still up. I put these signs up Oct 2003. Such respect here - poles painted but signs intact. (murmur was our location-based mobile phone oral history project. Recorded stories about places & people could call & listen while there. Pre smartphone!).

There are 20 crab facts advent calendars left from @franzanth.bsky.social’s 2023 run. Idk if I’ll restock these (I’m low on stickering time this year bc I’m running so many events).

So! If you are planning to get multiple types of advent calendars, clock’s ticking on crabs.

Coolest thing. @bffo.bsky.social, Ryan Brinkman & I started this cross-YVR bioinformatics seminar & networking series when you were lucky to see a sequence alignment in someone's talk. Ppl found collaborators, jobs, grad school supervisors, made friends, learned stuff. Still going after 23 years.

The Broadheaded Sharpshooter!

Why are they called sharpshooters? Because uh. They're just like. Constantly peeing lol.

While I was taking pictures it peed like. idek. 10 times? Nonstop.

I have a weekly #tidytuesday #pydytuesday calendar event where my buddies and I get together on zoom to work together for an hour. I set timers to keep us on track and we check in after each, so it's ~30 mins of coding.

5 mins - get data loaded in
10 mins - explore data
15 mins - flesh out one idea
Questions for the #TidyTuesday and #PydyTuesday folks, how do you participate? All by yourself, or with team/lab members? If so, do you work together remotely or do you get together in person?
Thinking about starting something in my lab, so I'm looking for ideas!
