Heavy rain overnight and we are back into a bit of a wet and grey cycle again for the next while. Grateful to have gotten out for some sunny and beautiful rides earlier this week. We spent both days riding single track trails above Shawnigan Lake.

It will be called Quw'utsun Hulitun-ew't-hw, meaning “Cowichan place of giving life.” It will be paired with the English name Quw'utsun Valley Hospital #cowichanvalley

This is what I argued at the council table on a bike lane project I hope we would move forward with. Too many bad faith counter arguments against bikes when all we are asking for is equity into access to the streets we equally pay property taxes is sad. Not telling you that you can't drive.

Remember when Napster was sued for piracy and individuals were being fined thousands of dollars for file sharing. AI is that kind of piracy on a whole different scale.

Another unexpected beautiful afternoon outdoors. Took advantage of the weather to clear some trails. Did a bit of maintenance for the local users clearing up blowdown and brushing back overgrown limbs.

This will always be how I think of Canada, a true cultural diversity. This was taught continually in school and we can't loose sight of this fundamental inclusive view towards community and national identity.
There was a mayor in Dawson City , who, during a citizenship ceremony once said, “Canadians are born all over the world. It just sometimes takes them a bit of time to get here.”
Now, every time a new citizen announces they have become Canadian, someone always quotes that.

I would read the hell out of a deeply reported piece on how the media/political elite addiction to Twitter is shaping their views, which in turn shape the views of millions of people. It's a total reality-warper.
