This is what I argued at the council table on a bike lane project I hope we would move forward with. Too many bad faith counter arguments against bikes when all we are asking for is equity into access to the streets we equally pay property taxes is sad. Not telling you that you can't drive.

Remember when Napster was sued for piracy and individuals were being fined thousands of dollars for file sharing. AI is that kind of piracy on a whole different scale.
OpenAI pirated large numbers of books and used them to train models.

OpenAI then deleted the dataset with the pirated books, and employees sent each other messages about doing so.

A lawsuit could now force the company to pay $150,000 per book, adding up to billions in damages.

Another unexpected beautiful afternoon outdoors. Took advantage of the weather to clear some trails. Did a bit of maintenance for the local users clearing up blowdown and brushing back overgrown limbs.

This will always be how I think of Canada, a true cultural diversity. This was taught continually in school and we can't loose sight of this fundamental inclusive view towards community and national identity.
There was a mayor in Dawson City , who, during a citizenship ceremony once said, “Canadians are born all over the world. It just sometimes takes them a bit of time to get here.”

Now, every time a new citizen announces they have become Canadian, someone always quotes that.

And I nearly always cry.

“It's one kilometre, if we can restrain ourselves to 60 km an hour—to actually 60 km an hour—through there for one kilometre, then people would get through there safely, and then they can speed up on the other side,” @adampolsen.bsky.social said.

I am astonished that any progressive or even centrist elected official is still gifting free content to a man who throws Nazi salutes.
I would read the hell out of a deeply reported piece on how the media/political elite addiction to Twitter is shaping their views, which in turn shape the views of millions of people. It's a total reality-warper.
i’m increasingly convinced that many people in d.c. are just suffering from x dot com brain rot

Wow
Alberta residents have one job to do now, all sectors and all unions across the province need to unite in a General Strike to support the teachers.
At 2 a.m., the Alberta legislature passed a bill that will force 51,000 teachers back to work, impose a four-year contract and use the notwithstanding clause to stave off a legal challenge and suspend teacher bargaining at the local level. It includes fines for Ts and the ATA if they defy it. #AbLeg
