North Cowichan is keeping the community of Tumbler Ridge in our thoughts after Tuesday's horrific tragedy. We hold the students, families, staff, and first responders in our thoughts. Our flags are at half‑mast in honour of the lives lost and all who are grieving.

Dang that was a quick turn in the weather. So grateful we got out for another beautiful sunny and warm ride on Friday. Drinking my coffee this morning listening to the heavy rain come down outside. Typical west coast life, make the most of each nice day when you can 😀💚☔☀️

Who else go out for that amazing sunshine yesterday, I headed out into the mountains solo for a 3hr ride and got a great workout with a solid sweat. 💚

Saw this image shared on a local MTB facebook group this morning. Unfortunately there was no artist credit I could find for this great art work.
Hope you get your dose of antidepressants today 💊🚲

It is nice to have a council meeting again where the hot topic falls right in as a classic local government discussion, backyard chickens. #localgovt @northcowichan.bsky.social

Can we just be done with this guy already, man he is the essence of capitalist greed and scum all wrapped up in misogyny.
I see Kevin O’Leary has run his mouth about Billie Eilish, telling her to “shut her mouth and just entertain.”

And honestly…it’s crazy how someone can have so little self-awareness.

But also, America, you need to stop framing him in Marty Supreme as some cute curiosity. He is an absolute shithead.

Finally got it all done, I procrastinated forever 'cuz I was too busy riding bikes and also this is the basement bathroom we never use. Only took me almost two years to patch this drywall & then mud/sand it so my wife could paint it. Nicer than looking at the repaired waterlines and floor joists 😆

As a local leader I am continually shocked, saddened and then angry at how this community at times can treat one another. It needs to end, full stop. #quwutsun #coastsalishterritory

Love this parks and trails truck that @comox.ca just put to work in the community.
The Town of Comox has added a new electric “Mighty Truck” to our fleet to support parks and trail maintenance throughout the community.
This will help improve access to many of our trail areas—and Winnie (Dany's furry friend) seems to approve of this new addition! 🐾🚛

The amount of trailwork I have been able to do with this powerful little Milwaukee M12 8" saw is pretty damn amazing. I hike or ride with it in my backpack on rides when I need to refill my "trail karma" meter. 🔋⚡🪚

Thank-you @emilylowan.bsky.social and @bcgreens.bsky.social for taking the lead on this and building the momentum that created the final outcome. Let's continue to do good meaningful action here in Canada for ethical, compassionate and democratic values.
Please watch and share this. Boycotts, resistance, protests work. In the United States, and Canada too.

Invasive Ivy is causing so much damage to some of our local forests and parks. It is so sad to see and I try to remove a bunch off the trees every time I go for a walk. The forest floor is terrible though and I think is a lost cause 😢 I'll focus on saving the trees. 🌲

Have you heard of “The Populist Playbook?”

A few years ago, I posted what I still consider one of my most important messages.

It was about “The Populist Playbook” that I’ve watched play out often over my 33+ years of city planning.

Since then, it’s only gotten worse.

Do the steps sound familiar?
