I’m sorry English is like that. It’s less of a system and more of a handshake you have to memorize and then riff on 🎸

Soo…. publishing some real things that Reagan said is now “psy-ops”? If the truth is an attack on your position, you’re thriving on deception. Canada needs to decouple all trade from the US and spend more time pointing out uncomfortable truths 🤔

It was exciting to feel like we were transitioning from a gatekeeper economy to one that serviced and enabled creators. It feels more like we’ve enabled new overlords that control the flow of money, diverting ever more of it to themselves. Now with political objectives we don’t support 😔

Incredible 🩵 “Toronto’s multibillion-dollar effort to re-naturalize a major river and the surrounding lands, was advertised as one of the “largest waterfront revitalization projects” in the world. … the discoveries have underscored the resilience of ecosystems in the face of human-led destruction.”

In the 2010s, this country's elites were thrown onto social platforms with everyone else and could finally read what we all think about them and it caused them so much psychic damage that they decided to destroy both the internet and democracy to make sure nothing like it ever happened again.

While defending the luddite argument in Discord, I stumbled into this IMO succinct explanation for opposing generative AI:

At every step in the process, it impoverishes us.

the thing about amazing art/books/movies/music is the "holy shit, a person made that" whether you're talking about guernica or catch-22 or do the right thing or "a love supreme" and if you remove the human creator from the equation who gives a shit

As a professional developer, former designer and amateur writer, my principled stance is that I’ll just avoid AI completely. My nightmare is that companies are now requiring AI use for developers, and my nightmare is that I just get pushed out of my profession entirely for avoiding it 😬
