We need to keep pushing that they release the Epstein files. Unredacted. If they fail to do this, the DoJ goes to jail.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Anyone at CBS with the details is morally obligated to leak what happened and who did what

Occam's razor.

DOJ hasn't released key documents, including the original 60-count draft indictment of Epstein and the victim statements.

Why?

DOJ really doesn't want us to read them.

Why does DOJ care so much about these?

Because they directly or indirectly implicate Trump.

This morning, U.S. Border Patrol goons raided a Home Depot in Huntington Park. During the raid, a man was being pursued by goons. As he attempted to flee, he ran into the street and was struck by a vehicle. He was hospitalized, received medical treatment, and has since been released.

At least five FUBARed Waymo robots:

Market & Guerrero, SF

One is a problem, two a mistake, five a major ops screw up. Waymo has never fixed their cascading failure problem. Maybe they don't know how.

Fundamentally unfit for service at scale until they do, IMO.

Aesthetically, one of the most embarrassing thing about "A.i." images are the way they seem to prioritize deeply boring "realistic" rendering over everything else. As if great "art" is something that looks like a straight-to-video DVD cover for a crappy third tier superhero movie.

I'm very tolerant of bad aesthetics - I actually frequently LOVE bad art when it comes from real human beings! But when it's churned out by a fucking machine? It has zero meaning and zero value and actually degrades the reputation and message of the person throwing it at us.

I saw a Waymo follow the car in front of it and just blast through an intersection rather than treat it like a four-way stop and stop because the traffic light was out this afternoon.
PG&E is having a massive outage in San Francisco. Waymo robots aren't handling the traffic light outages well. Cell service is also out is some places.

No surprise as Waymo robots & cell have repeatedly failed during power outages.

CPUC regulates both Waymo and PG&E (Profit Greed & Explosions).

legit this tech breaks the first and fundamental rule of education/academia: do not plaigirize. all while breaking other rules of education or academia. in my day you'd be expelled for half of what this shit fundamentally is for multiple reasons. from like grade school even.
I’m sorry, but it is disgraceful to be an academic who uses this technology to conduct research. It should be prohibited in all of our scholarly institutions, including universities and journals.

I know someone whose Hispanic cleaner, a citizen, has been stopped by ICE here 4 times. He’s now afraid to leave his abode. For now, most clients continue to pay him.

This is a surgical dismantling of yet another dumb Matt Yglesias argument by a former clean energy exec and current Representative. This is the sort of thing that should make people stop listening to people like Yglesias.

Read the whole thing.
This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...
