After the GRS, I was lucky to stay for the Bioorganic Chemistry GRC, chaired by Denise Field and @doc-jlmeier.bsky.social. This meeting is truly one of my favorite weeks of the year, and as every year, I learned so much and left the meeting so inspired in my own science!

Last week, I had the privilege of chairing the Bioorganic Chemistry GRS with my amazing co-chair @zhilindseylin.bsky.social. Thank you to all of our amazing speakers, poster presenters for a truly incredibly GRS!

This is an excellent article on the termination of all federal funding at Harvard.

This visualization shows all of the terminated programs that were supposed to train the next generation of scientists.

I worry that not enough of a big deal is being made about how long-term the devastation of these budget cuts to our scientific and health agencies will be, beyond the absolute ruin they will cause in the acute period.

Bioorganic GRC is set! I got tired of the lack of swag so made a couple of unofficial tees. Order one if you want to support the conference (or simply enjoy strange looks in grocery stores).

America’s long-term growth is at stake. Congress is weighing sweeping FY2026 cuts to fundamental science, including $18 billion from the NIH and $5 billion from the NSF.

In the long run, these cuts will cost the economy billions.

*GASP* 😮

We know, it's a big goal.

If you've received tax dollars for your science, you have a responsibility to inform *your* community what is at stake: public health, the economy, innovation, and America's global leadership.
