We’re not sure what separates the Trump admin from the “terrorists” it claims to be fighting. You watch whats happening and can’t even process it—what the hell is going on is all we can think. Our Constitution grants everyone within this country the same legal protections, regardless of citizenship.

🧵 There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason that American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.

The arrest to slave labor pipeline has existed for awhile in the US and elsewhere but i have a feeling we will be have to consider it more seriously in the coming years. Being homeless is illegal in some states and increasingly you can be deported for no actual legal reason
Totally agree with this. Flying a person to a third country that they may never have been to, directly into a prison where they are going to be forced to do hard labor, is not a deportation; it's something else entirely.
@washingtonpost.com They were not DEPORTED. Deported means sending them back to their country of origin. These people were sent to a maximum security prison in El Salvador, without any due process or any analysis as to whether they feared harm in El Salvador!

Yes!! Exactly this! Y’all, the KKK was INCREDIBLY powerful in the 1920s. Their National membership numbered in the MILLIONS. Kluxxers were the sheriffs, the city cops, the FBI, the town mayors, state governors, & Congressmen. But they WERE defeated. Bc people fought back.
