Outside of prison, there is no other workplace that could get away with requiring workers to strip in front of their co-workers & a camera. In 2024, 70+ incarcerated workers in CA organized against such degrading conditions & policies, says James Anderson.

AI’s only general purpose use is to control labor. Thank you.
Their plan is to use AI to detect forbidden words and content for any federally funded research project. I expect this to be challenged in court in due time, but in the meantime, I need to comply to keep funding my students

We are proud to introduce our next Workshop4Sudan w/ Ruth Wilson Gilmore on May 5 at 12 pm (EDT). This wkshp will among other things allow 4 reflections on what internationalism frm below might look like, given abolition requires it + how we apply it to diff. contexts.

🖤 May Day means solidarity with ALL workers, including sex workers, incarcerated workers, undocumented workers, criminalized workers, and disabled workers.
When we say “an injury to one is an injury to all,” we’d better fucking mean it. 🖤

the construction of Cop City hinged on a compliant media that repeated false police claims and framing, private funders who see expanded policing as a safeguard for their capital, and state actors willing to serve those interests without question. none of that is unique to Atlanta!

Cop City is officially "opening" today. The movement against it carries so many lessons for people everywhere, because the issues are everywhere today: the un-democratic militarization and expansion of policing and state violence, backed by dark money private funding.

Criminalization is not only a primary tool to suppress dissent—it's at the core of how authoritarian and fascist agendas are enacted and legitimized. Challenging criminalization in our strategies for resistance is essential.

We can survive and find a way to be of use amid this unthinkable chaos by tethering ourselves to each other. We hold each other down.
As usual with my early-morning threads, this is probably obvious. But let's repeat to each other — like prayers — the things that enable us to keep going. 5/5

Hello, Bluesky folks! I have a pressing need to chat with someone about an AI-related issue I'm having with a publisher. Is there anyone here who may be able to consult with me, or who knows folks I may be able to contact? Being linked to someone who could provide legal counsel would be helpful too.
