This is something all reasonable Canadians need to understand. 👇

Poilievre is deliberately limiting access to journalists during an election.

This behaviour is anti- democratic. If you can’t answer questions you are unfit for office. Fin.
This is a serious warning: “We are a functioning democracy…there's limits…to how much a person who aspires to be a prime minister should curtail media."

Limiting who asks questions, the # of questions and access to candidates/supporters is antidemocratic.

The Trump Administration is trying to get rid of an entire set of people and institutions. This is more than an attack on individual agencies. All autocracies do this. And the effects of this purge will be profound and long lasting. My latest for the Nation. www.thenation.com/article/soci...

Our 105 year old patient got his measles booster this morning.

He knows how serious diseases were before they were vaccine-preventable.

#Measles immunization averted more than 60 million deaths between 2000-2023.

Tragically, 107, 500 people (unimmunized, most <5y) died from measles in 2023.

To my Canadian colleagues: you should know that a key component of what the US is doing right now involves purging scientists & research programs for ideological impurity & (illegally) reclaiming their funds.

Votewell.ca is a site that may help you decide whether you need to switch your vote to give the non-CPC side a better chance. Eg, Niagara West. Right now it looks like a vote split between the Liberals and NDP will give the CPC a much better chance. If the NDP votes switch, it's tight.

YOU GET TO GO OUTSIDE IN SAFETY, that’s what.
I feel like the last twenty years I have been correcting people who held the assumption that Y2K was fearmongering, and not a wild success story. I always felt really discomfited by the lack of recognition the folks that *averted disaster* through competence, attention and hard work didn’t get.
