Two things:
1. Stop taking photos of presentations that are presented in landscape during a session using a phone in portrait orientation,
2. Get rid of those Dyson combined water and air-dryer taps.

There's a place in hell (if it exists) for fuckers who put their feet on seats of buses or trains.

Ps bus eireann any chance you'd steam clean the seats on the buses, they're manky... Míle Buíochas

The ‘heart’ of this space is, in a word, bleak. Gone is a significant portion of green space, replaced by an expanse of gravel. This can be a pleasant surface in urban parks but only when in a successful ratio to soft surfaces.

Additional seating and overall colouration are positives.

“The national investment will largely be focused on cycle highways connecting rural villages and suburban areas with metropolitan centres, providing access to jobs, healthcare and education.”

Imagine how transformative this approach would be in Ireland. #speirgorm #spéirgorm

Well, here we are.

Bishop Lucey Park has reopened after a two-year closure and redesign. And it’s very good to have this space available again.

I’m trying very hard to find the positives (there are some), but overall it is a sad failure for the public and for urban green space in Cork.

Bishop Lucy Park has been altered for the worst in a €7 million ‘upgrade’ that has turned it from a park into a gravel path. Very real environmental concerns here. Less greenery all round, poor drainage, removal of trees, very little grass for people to sit on or bugs to populate.

I'd love to "debate" why their MEPs voted with the far right to allow migrants drown in the Med, but no-one in Fine Gael ever seems to want to talk about that.
It would be one thing having a "debate" on immigration if people meant they wanted a "debate" based on facts. But what most people seem to mean when they say they want a debate is that is they want us to pretend a bunch of entirely made up bullshit is true.

If you've had the misfortune of meeting me you'll no doubt have heard me talk about bicycles or my cargo bike.

This is a great video from @sirichardson.bsky.social on the Elevate project about real world usage of cargo bikes with usage by regular people

The discourse pendulum has moved to Met Éireann not issuing enough warnings. Made by the same people who complained about warnings and "sure didn't it rain a lot back in 1974 and nobody died (other than the ones who did) ?".

Thankfully the fearless amateurs are taking up the slack.

In a desperate attempt to see if I can get better internet speeds I signed up for a 5g sim only plan and bought a 5g router (cudy p5)

Desperate times and measures and all that.

It does give me the chance to configure the protectli vault I got ages ago 😳

This is an interesting thread. Thinking about the crossing at SuperValu it often looks like many older / less mobile people find it difficult to cross before the red displays.
I've been looking at a pedestrian crossing this afternoon and specifically crossing times. While lots of people worry about the length of time the green man shows (which is important to some extent), the key think is the "blackout period" when someone sets foot on the crossing just as the green
