The Cowley Low Traffic Neighbourhoods have saved 30 collisions over 3 years within the LTNs and boundary roads according to latest casualty data, analysed by @cohsat.bsky.social

The Cowley LTNs were implemented in April 2021, after sporadic coronavirus lockdowns between March 2020 and March 2021.

IMPORTANT: Paris has more than “vision.” They have clear plans. Including a 5-Year Pedestrian Plan:
- 300 million € invested by 2026
- 100 new hectares of ped space
- 100 more “streets for kids”
- Focus on 0 pedestrian deaths #VisionZero
- Longer ped cross times

That's 3m wide and by walls, knock off 0.5m on each side to give an effective width of 2m; so it wasn't very good in the first place.

These barriers are disgraceful.

Just when you thought #Cycleway1 couldn’t get any worse! It was awful enough that the route takes us through a seedy alleyway, but Haringey Council thought it would go one further and install these barriers!!! Good luck to cargo bike riders. Depressing. @willnorman.co.uk @mikehakata.bsky.social

Many of my pals are 60+ and are not stopping cycling any time soon. The physical, mental, social and financial benefits of using a bike are already proven. If we can live longer as well, bring it on. Some of us even 'did' Dunwich this year 🥹

Looks like we're not hanging our helmets up any time soon. Our top two Dangerous Junctions have been on our to-do list for years. Nothing is happening. We need to get noisy.
