Often ranting about TfL's worst Cycleway (#Cycleway1). Tens of thousands of potential cycle journeys are lost every day because huge compromise were made.
It never fails to amaze me just how much stuff you can carry on a standard e-bike with a decent pannier rack and a few bungees!

An LTN in Islington will generate 1.4 million extra driven miles each year. Except that it's a non-story. Plus, I get to dig out an old thread because it's not the first time people have tried this "analysis".

When a usually busy road in Tottenham is inadvertently turned into an LTN due to roadworks, you do have to wonder why it should ever be returned to the way it was. And no, the surrounding roads are not choc full of traffic. You can actually hear birdsong! @perayahmet.bsky.social

A week since the last rainfall and the towpath still looks like this. It’s unjust that key walking and cycling routes like these rely on charitable donations and volunteers to maintain them. They need proper investment. @heidialexander.bsky.social @mayoroflondon.bsky.social @willnorman.co.uk

Our estimates off DfT data is London's 1.5 million cycled journeys daily now accounts for well over half of all cycle journeys made in England. That's an amazing end-of-year reflection alongside this ace @peterwalker99.bsky.social piece about what London & LCC included is getting so right...

Why is the quality of towpaths reliant on charitable donations, when they are key everyday transport routes for thousands of people walking and cycling? They need to be funded properly. Will this change @heidialexander.bsky.social? They shouldn’t be avoided days after rainfall.

The state of this! Will @hackneycouncil.bsky.social ever resurface De Beauvoir Rd? It's bad enough that #Cycleway1 is still crammed with cars and vans, but we shouldn't have to zig-zag around cracks and potholes. @willnorman.co.uk @mayoroflondon.bsky.social @hackneylcc.bsky.social

It can't be said enough. The trouble with sticking routes such as #Cycleway1 onto backstreets (instead of main roads) is that many will have to endure crossing the very road on which it should have been on in first place, in order to access it. Barmy. @willnorman.co.uk @mayoroflondon.bsky.social
