Often ranting about TfL's worst Cycleway (#Cycleway1). Tens of thousands of potential cycle journeys are lost every day because huge compromise were made.
I just can't see why more people aren't enjoying #Cycleway1! Any clues anyone? Look at this. It's just so inviting!

It's got the point now on some sections of #Cycleway1 where you'd surely feel embarrassed to drive a car, being vastly outnumbered by people on bicycles, and obstructing those behind you who would otherwise be able to go quicker. Even in the rain!

So close! There's hardly a person on Earth who'd expect that to happen! Doesn't even look like a school bus! Good thing I was going a sensible speed. Terrible judgement from the driver.

Yesterday at the same junction in Stamford Hill where a driver crashed into me in July. So many drivers do not understand what giving way means.

Why do we allow roads like this to exist in modern cities? Huge chasms which divide communities wherein which people walking are subjected to standing on tiny islands between roaring single occupancy cars. It's a disgrace

The trouble with building backstreet cycle routes instead of alongside busy main roads is that large numbers of people are required to cross the busy road in order to access it. Such as roads like this with no provisions for people crossing by bike. What gives @willnorman.co.uk? #Cycleway1

This happened to me on 2nd July this year. Reported same day to the police, who are apparently still waiting for the owner of the registered vehicle to identify the driver - even though I provided evidence of the driver's identity! Is this normal? Over 3-months with no outcome?

Breaking news! This part of #Cycleway1 has been transformed with a fresh coat of paint! Still no safe crossing for people cycling, but doesn't that paint just make you feel so safe? Thanks @hackneycouncil.bsky.social. You're spoiling us. 😔

Doesn't #Cycleway1 just scream "easy to navigate, helping riders of all levels feel safer and more confident." (to use TfL's own words to describe Cycleways). Are you proud of this absence in meaningful cycle infrastructure @hackneycouncil.bsky.social @willnorman.co.uk @mayoroflondon.bsky.social?

To call Paul Street on #Cycleway1 a "boneshaker" is an understatement. If the route isn't going to be free of motor traffic, the very least it should be is smooth. Will you ever fix this @hackneycouncil @willnorman?
