Just found out the Alberta College of Pharmacy no longer allows pharmacies to accept scans of prescriptions (like from a patient through an app) so that they can be prepared in advance. Cuz God forbid we try to bring Canadian healthcare into the 21st century #abhealth

"the University of Alberta (U of A) will be ending funding support for all affiliated child-care centres in January 2026. Right now, funding for child care costs the university $298,600 per year or 0.02 per cent of the total expenses in 2024"

A few comments on the @mark-carney.bsky.social platform released today. You can find it here: liberal.ca/cstrong/.

I provided some 'sounding board' advice here and there to those working on the platform. As always: I disclose, but you can decide what weight to put on that.

Really incredible to have CTV, an entire broadcast news outlet, say they 'don't have the bandwidth' to deal with the type of harassment that Rachel Gilmore deals with as an individual journalist all the time.
NEW: CTV cancelled a fact-checking segment in response to political pressure from Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives

An audio recording obtained by PressProgress shows CTV cancelled an ‘election misinformation’ segment with journalist Rachel Gilmore after online backlash from conservatives

On April 1st, tens of thousands of Alberta families lose the childcare subsidy.

Why? Because the UCP have cut it.

I've heard from so many of you who are struggling to make ends meet. This cut has just made your lives a whole lot less affordable.

It boggles the mind how Premier Smith can take a harder line stance against the prime minister of her own country than the president of an enemy nation.

If she's unsure who is the bigger threat, her advisors have failed all Albertans miserably.

Just finished S1 of Severance. Wow it is overrated. It's not bad, but it is certainly not amazing. A slow pace can be good, but the slowness of this show does it a disservice.

I've come up with my New Year's resolution. Don't buy from Amazon what I can get locally. I knew about many of the company's issues already, but it was very helpful for my car-free lifestyle. Between this anti-trans BS and political baffoonery, though, I guess that's the nail in the coffin for me.
And The Information reported earlier that Amazon has removed transitioning support for trans people from the employee benefits listed on its website.

They weren’t forced to do any of this. They’ve done it by choice.
New: Meta has deleted trans and nonbinary Messenger themes, as well as the blog posts announcing them. Happens the same week that it has changed its rules to allow users to say LGBTQ+ people are "mentally ill"
