Not only could we easily ban our most rampant form of lawbreaking — a crime that kills over 12,000 Americans every year — we even have the technology to make it physically impossible.

Yet it's hard to imagine because so many of you out there delight in breaking the law.
My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

Just going to re-up this. Bullies want people to be under their control, so they can hurt them for fun. Bullies fear real conflict, because real conflict is by definition NOT under their control. Real conflict raises the prospect of them losing, and they are cowards. You beat MAGA by fighting it.
That’s why it’s so absurd when people say “we can’t fight Trump, he thrives on conflict.” Bullies like Trump do not thrive on genuine conflict with real stakes. They thrive on fake conflict they can win and control. They fear real conflict immensely. Conflict is how you beat them. They are cowards.

it is always worth remembering that vance made a conscious decision to be a person of low character. he has eagerly contorted himself into evil for the sake of what amounts to a whiff of power.
This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.

May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.

How is this not a screaming massive headline across every news site? This is insane, a virtual declaration of civil war. We fought a revolution to not be subjected to this kind of tyranny

Feel like it's worth periodically reiterating that "conservative" is not a protected class.

Being a minority puts you in a protected class. Hating minorities just makes you a dick. There is no moral or legal requirement for any organization to have some minimum number of dicks.

Gentrification is what we call it when demand exceeds supply. It is not caused by bike lanes.

The answer is not to suppress demand by enshittifying cities, or to justify endangering & killing people outside of cars as a rent control mechanism, but to increase supply.

The thing you have to understand about these people--who absolutely dominate prestige media and intellectual circles--is that they believe it is categorically impossible for someone to be respected/important/influential/mainstream and also morally reprehensible.

The reason we cannot seem to take Trump seriously is because so many of our leaders, bizarrely, want to attack his authoritarianism as some kind of flimsy performance, which then prevents them from saying the authoritarianism IS AUTHORITARIANISM

Thing is, the liberals who read these books don't want to hear dumb & simple. They don't want to hear that the way to solve it is simply to fight. They want to hear a) it's very complicated & they're very clever for getting it, and b) it's their fault in some way, so their self-hatred is justified.

For another comparison, there's also an aerial view from a similar perspective, though at lower altitude since it's from a drone photographer, here on Facebook from 2019: www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=...

The drone photo is closer to 31.5057, 34.4619 whereas the plane photo is closer to the coast.

Here's an unpopular opinion: as a podcast host, I would rather eat fucking glass than read some cheeseball add for a mattress or Better Help or whatever. The people who do it are humiliating themselves and I can't believe we've just all mutually decided this is ok. It's gross.

“This Sydney Sweeney thing” is like 3 tweets and 5 TikToks from random people. The left is not remotely worked up about this.

The right, however, has been frothing about the nonexistent outrage for days — and more prominent outlets are spreading far more radical and troubling messages.
A message I just got from a buddy of mine, who’s a long time Democratic Party campaign consultant: “This Sydney Sweeney thing is the kind of thing that turns men away from our party. It’s why men think our party is weak & insane.”

My response to him? “Fuck yea it is. You are exactly right.”

I cannot get over how no one in mainstream politics even disputes factual claims like this. Everyone admits that Israel is starving children and murdering desperate civilians. The only ‘debate’ is about what to call it and whether the motives of people protesting it are pure enough.
