THIS!!! And double as a parent!!! If my 14 yr old kid is playing a game and it’s dinner time, or they have homework, and they can’t pause the game or they lose all the progress they made in their free time after school? MAJOR family stressor. Let people pause/save their games ANY time they want.
Big caveat that I am a Gamer, gamedev, and game scholar, so I'm not exactly the median of their target audience. But still, I hope it helped.

OKAY! Number one - I NEED TO BE ABLE TO PAUSE THE GAME OH MY GOD 🧵2/?

Writing the GM advice bit for Hollows and ended up doing a Player advice bit instead. This is, I think, the most that I can boil it down to

#TTRPG DM/GM Advice: Popular advice is "don't gate essential info behind a skill check; failure will halt progress in your game"

Better advice: If you gate essential info behind a skill check, they still get it. The check is to avoid consequences for getting the info.

The #foreverDM starter pack is starting to shape up nicely!

If you know (or are) anyone that is the dedicated game master, knows ALL the rules and does the NPC in a thousand voices, comment below. 😀

Reskeets are much appreciated! ❤️

Helpful DM #ttrog tip:
If you suck at a particular point in your game remember: it's just a small thing that you 100% are capable to fix and never encounter ever again
And also, high chance that your players didn't notice and will never notice this, relax

Your verbs are your gameplay. Whether you’re building a game system that has classes or factions, or you’re using something less formalized, games are interactive so your verbs are what the players can expect their characters to do in the game.

Werewolf: the Apocalypse is a game about tragic creatures who know their enemy and its methods and spend a debilitating amount of time fighting with each other over the best approach to dealing with that enemy.

The most unrealistic part of ttrpg PC is not that they are non-human or possess magic abilities
It's that they despite being extremely traumatized are capable of doing great things and archive their goals

After some extensive research for the #ttrpg game I start to think I'm not doing it for enrichment of my play, but rather I'm running these worlds just to show someone how sapid what I found is

Bunch of helpful advices, strongly recommend
One of the things I've learned about music in an RPG is that it's simultaneously a SOUNDTRACK and MUZAK.

If you're going take full advantage of music in your game, you need to truly understand both roles.

There is a certain threshold in DM preparing, when everything you prepare beforehand pays off, every detail about NPC or atmosphere around players add something to the whole experience

Prepared session is better then mostly improvised
But improvised session is much much better then no game at all

Worst thing about depression is that time when it emerged or worsened in the middle of ttrpg campaign
You still have ideas and stuff, you just can't prepare properly

Just reading media around the theme of my game and nervously checking the rules right before the session
Usually I also prep scenes that I want to see
Sometimes players go to the opposite direction but this kind of prep still worth, you could use them later anyway
GMs!

What does yal session prep look like! I'm VERY new to running my own games, but I'd love to hear how you balance between being prepped enough, and being over prepared?
