I remember talking to a woman who was surprised that a bank would not issue a 2nd mortgage to her 90 y/o mother.
"I don't get it! She has good credit."

INGRAHAM: Is a 50 year mortgage really a good idea?
TRUMP: It's not even a big deal. You go from 40 to 50 years. All it means is you pay less per month

...does the hospital I rely on for emergency care survive the cuts? I sure hope so. But I'm not counting on it. So what happens if it closes? Can a university town - a major driver of economic activity in the region - function without a hospital?
I really hope we don't find out

This entire country has the attention span of gnats. As this thread states, #Medicaid is not even being mentioned now.
The Medicaid cuts are going to eliminate health care for many poor people and devastate the rural and safety net hospital system. They are going to take a wrecking ball to whatever passes for an eldercare system in this country. They are an assault on the disabled and essentially eugenic in nature

If you're bleeding internally you just uhh call around and compare health care plans. Make a budget spreadsheet and see what you can afford. Do I have to spell it out for you. I have a ballroom to build

Pretty sure Trump has never done this and wouldn’t know how
Just getting dinner onto the table for the kiddos, will deal with this later.
Trump: "We had a guy named Buttigieg. Boot-edge-edge they say is the best way. Just say two 'edges' like off the edge of a cliff — which is where they were taking us, by the way."

ERISA won't save you. The ACA market entering a death spiral will cause massive failures in the health care delivery system. Even more hospitals will close. Rural clinics will go under. Entire practices will be sold to venture capital.
Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

We're debating on the government funding package right now and every single Republican voted against a Democratic amendment to pass a clean, one-year extension of the ACA tax credits.
Republicans just don't care about your health care.

I turned on TV for #MNF but saw #AftabPureval being interviewed. He's very pragmatic and business-friendly, knows how to win in a red state (as he said himself, #Ohio went more for Trump than #Texas)
But I think part of this is...everyone, and I mean EVERYONE hates JD Vance. Including most of MAGA

5️⃣ JD Vance's half-brother, Cory Bowman, was crushed in his challenge Cincinnati's Democratic mayor Aftab Pureval.
His loss was unsurprising in this blue-leaning city.
But he lost 78% to 22%: That's the biggest margin in a mayoral race in Cincy since it started electing mayors directly in 2001.

“attention on menopause has elevated a new cadre of doctor-influencers…clinic doesn’t accept insurance, offers memberships that start at $3,000 for 4-6 months of treatment. Dr. Dobs cautions against relying on influencers selling supplements or claiming HRT will solve all women’s health problems.”
The great @kieraevebutler.bsky.social and I took a look at the many problems with the FDA’s big menopause announcement today... including the claims that menopause causes divorce + death, & that the FDA is leading the charge against the "male-dominated medical profession" 🫠

UPDATE: Canada has announced that it has lost its measles elimination status.
This is a direct result of the increase in anti-vax disinformation, which has caused large, sustained outbreaks in the country over the last year.
