How does someone become an anti-vaxxer or come to believe that chemotherapy is more dangerous than cancer?
I’ve spent all year working with Alexander Stockton and The NY Times trying to answer that question. Here’s our findings.

The Democrats really know how to slam the brakes on momentum.
agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

After a really good night not even a week ago, Democrats possibly caving now is so fucking deflating.
This is going to hurt everyone, no matter how great you think your benefits are.
If you're one of the very few Americans who can pay out of pocket, good on you. That's not most of us.

Sometimes an album hits you the first time.
Sometimes, you know something's there, but you can't put your finger on it quickly.
When it's such a stark departure from their previous work, it's a bit disconcerting.
Now 6x through Rosalia's "Lux" and it's masterful.

Can't believe it's been 5+ years since I taught yoga, but I still somehow update my playlist weekly for fun.
This week it's a tribute to Rosalia, so a bunch from her, but also some of my other favorite flamenco artists.

Listened 3x today. Fully agree with this assessment.
Rosalía’s new album, “Lux,” “wants to make us stop whatever we’re doing and listen, which inevitably means that it’s less broadly appealing—less listenable, in a sense—than albums that ask less,” Kelefa Sanneh writes. “It’s also much harder to forget.” https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/vfn39b
Rosalía Doesn’t Want to Take It Easy
On “Lux,” her intense and expansive new album, the artist transgresses the limits of pop music.

I watched bigotry and ignorance proliferate in the months and years after 9/11 in New York City.
Here's what happened during that time, with a little bit of hope.

Sadly, the only thing that's going to wake MAGA up is looking at their bank accounts. It's coming, it's happening already, and it's the only path forward.

Who is RFK Jr? Well, a pharma exec (unfortunately) passes out during a press conference. Dr Oz rushes to help. Where does Bobby go? What a metaphor for MAHA. That’s who Kennedy is.

Between this protein craze, “clean” eating, and MAHA’s demonization of so many food categories (and championing of everyday tallow, butter, and meat), we’re going to be grappling with a surge in disordered eating under guise of “health” for some time.

Thanks to the GOP’s bill, health care will increase by up to 30% for Americans using Obamacare in 2026.
People who receive health care through their employer will see the biggest increase since 2010.
