Some of the fake citations we're spotting in submissions to our journal are pretty convincing - I almost had to go and check I *didn't* write this in 2023:

I get a bit tired of some of the discourse around young men. This lovely poem by Hollie McNish highlights the wonderful care so many young men do for their female friends. I was lucky to have boy friends like this in my life and I still do!!

Five corporations control 90% of the US media market.

Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today.

Four giants control 80% of meat processing.

A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.

The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

An impressive 32 FE Branches over the line in the ballot. I know how incredibly hard everyone has worked to get the vote out. Now comes the work of supporting ALL the branches with what comes next. Whether they made it to 50% or not there is work to be done 💪🏼

90% voted YES.
32 colleges over the line.
17 colleges already won pay awards.

This is a huge organising win for our FE members.

College bosses must work with us, staff deserve a fair deal, especially when many are paid £7k–£9k less than in sixth forms.

Next steps announced next week.
