Thanks so much to Sam and Melissa for taking our second-year Liberal Arts students around the Linen Hall Library and introducing them to some of the collections today. Bonus that as we were exploring, we bumped into one of our third years who is interning there at the moment!

I mean, what kind of legal action would this be exactly? Defamation? I would truly love to see it. 'They made it look like I instigated a coup during my very well recorded coup attempt.'

Saw this last night and it was amazing. The complete silence in the cinema as the credits rolled - which continued into the foyer - is testament to the power of this film.
The use of archive footage is particularly impactful, and I loved how they wove women's activism in #palestine36

#Palestine36 is performing well at the box office (for a small independent film). Thanks to all of you who have already seen it. Given the interest in the film it is showing at even more cinemas across the U.K. and Ireland next week. Please see the listings here:

This morning at the Remembrance Sunday service at our parish church, I read Wilfred Owen's Dulce Et Decorum Est.
It is an excoriatingly angry poem and I delivered it as such.
If what war does to human beings, especially the young, does not make you incandescently angry there is something wrong.

Black American soldiers literally dug these WWII graves. Traumatic. To acknowledge that fact at a cemetery they helped construct is something the Heritage Foundation cannot accept. As Veterans Day approaches, never forget that this country both compels and disrespects Black military service. Always.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Call me controversial, but technology that leads vulnerable people into crisis and even holds their hand as they die by suicide should not be endorsed by schools and universities, we should not be giving discounted subscriptions to this monstrous tech to young people AT ALL
The boyfriend of a friend of my son's has spent several weeks in a psych ward due to Chat GPT induced psychosis. He isn't suicidal but AI encouraged him down a toxic and paranoid wormhole until he became completely delusional. Evil stuff.
1.This is not the only known example we know of ChatGPT cheering on a vulnerable young person to die by suicide, this time it is a recent Texas A&M grad
2. Every single university that has invited OpenAI into our midst should be asked to account for their choices.
