Wrangles code and dodges protein for a living (PKU).
I've made it 65% of the way through Mistborn, and I'm honestly loving it.

I don't think I've been quite so immersed in a fantasy novel before, I can't quite put my finger on it.

Read Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk.

I absolutely loved it, it was a hell of a wild ride. The twists absolutely got me along the way, did not expect any of it. May re-read it again in the future.

I watched Iron Lung in the cinemas, and legitimately one of the most boring, incoherent horror films I've seen in quite some time.

It's well shot and well acted, but there is so much mystery that as an audience member I fail to see why I should care after an hour in. Let alone 2 hours.

Alas latest low protein bread prescription for daughter with pku. Chemist delayed letting us know of arrival. Second time. Another £54 in the bin. 😔

Listening to Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson and Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk via the Libro.fm app.

Invisible Monsters... I mean, I've never read/heard anything quite like it. I'm incredibly captivated.

What is up with StoryGraph?

It keeps going down! I even managed to see a Heroku warning page, which shocked me.

Heroku as a SaaS platform has a way of enabling "maintenance mode" to say "hey, this app is down". Why don't SG use it? And why don't they have a separate status page?!?

Basic stuff.

I'm giving myself a mental break from bookreading for today, but I plan to read Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson.

I've already made some way - over 20% - and I'm having a good time so far.

What are everyone's thoughts of Mistborn? No spoilers, please.

Finished reading The Fourth Wing - really enjoyed this book!

I loved the setting, the characters, the diversity, the ending of the book. Pretty much all of it!.

More of this sort of thing, please!!

Sharing the Kobo US site for my newest book pub, the 2nd edition of "The Doctor's Dreams" stories - as some readers are avoiding Amazon / Kindle right now for various reasons. (Also up at Kobo internationally, including India.) #booksky #kobo www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/...

Happy reader + friend, using KOBO in his pic below... For independent authors like me, we can distribute to KOBO by publishing on Draft2Digital, I'm finding it easy to use. #writingcommunity #booksky
I love my new Kobo Libra Colour! It's so wonderfully wide!

The buttons are super useful for turning pages without tapping the screen, and it can detect how it is rotated and will adjust accordingly (this is upside down, and it handled it like a pro)

I've been trialling out some apps for book reading, here are my thoughts:

GoodReads: Classic. Virtually everyone has this. Tied to Amazon and comes with Kindle.

Really clunky and outdated. Doesn't have half/quarter star ratings, and no DNF. I avoid using if possible.

Had to DNF "Before The Coffee Gets Cold" by Toshikazu Kawaguchi.

Holy smokes this book is dull. Just overly repetitive and does anything to avoid getting to the point. This wouldn't be so bad if each chapter was about 50 pages long, but reads like a JRR Tolkein novel.

Just realised I've read a few books, so here are my book reviews:

A Lesson In Cruelty - Harriet Tyce

I didn't enjoy it. 60% of the book was exposition dumping, the rest was a rushed, chaotic ending which didn't make much sense. 2/5
