Wrangles code and dodges protein for a living (PKU).
Me when a new piece of tech I impulsively buy arrives comes through the door (I wish I had a bit of patience, but I MUST try it out as soon as the shiny hits the front door)

It's incredibly accessible while having pretty deep lore.

The characters are diverse and aren't stereotypical cliches straight from fantasy.

Women aren't written like their chest size is their entire personality.

The plot is a bit like Oceans 11 with added metals and magic.

I just love it.

Sorry, just saw the shawshank redemption! I absolutely loved that film! Had no idea King was behind it!

The last film I saw which was a Stephen King adaptation was the long walk! and I was quite meh on that one personally. but definitely giving King a read in the future!

oh yes, I've seen green mile, that was brilliant!

I've heard nothing but good things about Choke! I have yet to read it and Fight Club, but both of those books are on my list!

I don't know - I've never read any of his books! I've seen a few of his films and they seem kind of silly? But I'd be up for reading Stephen King.

Also, why is Mars - a planet and not a living creature - full of blood. Why is it bleeding? What was the point of the blood?

It's like all these horror tropes just bungled in to make something scary without any real considered thought *why* these things are scary.

Oh you have no idea. I actually rang up St Thomas Hospital at one point, and as a millennial I think I can say as a collective we millennials would rather choose death than use the telephone.

Proper panic mode, that. I refuse to use Glytactin or any of their products for this reason.

Haha! My sister said the same thing when she got her copy of the NSPKU magazine!

Hollywood, here I come 😎

Glytactin team just kept saying "we're looking into it" and absolutely REFUSED to give any backup supplements - even a weeks worth to tide me over or something. Never had I been so desperate. Luckily I still have PKU Sphere on prescription - ordered that on prescription and I got my supplies

I used to have Glytactin Build 20, but one time the supplier told the pharmacy they ran out of Glytactin Build. Pharmacy passed that onto me and I obviously panicked as it was the supplements (really important to PKU peeps). Raised it with hospital.

I've never had any issues with the bread as the pharmacy understands it is perishable goods (thankfully) but I've had all sorts of issues:

One time in December I reordered pasta, it came in the new year due to manufacturer issues. No alternatives offered.

I genuinely love it - again, another horror film with themes. It's also basically Phantom of the Opera. It also does an *excellent* job at building up the tension from the beginning to when you see Tony Todd's character.

I would say The Silence of the Lambs is worse.

I remember Tony Todd was paid $500 per bee sting, and got a hefty payout because of it (if I recall correctly, I'm a bit distracted by Hannibal Lecter escaping to look this up 😅)

Since I've got horror on my mind, Candyman?

... I'm never leaving the house at this rate.

Good thing I work in IT, where such things are the norm...
