Opinion | In under 3 months, Donald Trump has shown himself to be the greatest threat to American democracy we've ever experienced. There is no way I will vote for him again unless I get a massive tax cut.

If you think about it, we had a decent chance at having a functional government still and could have had elected officials not actively trying to destroy our country and everyone in it. Wild how half the country saw that option and still went “nah…”

Not ever going to forgive them for that.

It’s super fun remembering that our other choice was literally the antithesis of what we’re dealing with right now. We could have had extremely competent leaders. We could have had quiet news cycles. We could still have strong allies. Like, that was an option that we, as a country, had a choice of…

If there’s one thing the right hates more than people trying to exist, it’s art in any form. Art requires empathy, growth, doubt and curiosity. They don’t take kindly to those things. Wouldn’t be shocked if they were happy about the Kennedy Center bottoming out. That may have been the goal…

Honestly, I’d just love for some adult in the room, preferably in the media world, to stop pretending like anything the idiot does is in any way rooted in doing what’s best for anyone. Call a spade a spade. Every action is meant to harm everyone. It’s not a bug, it’s the whole damn function.

It’s only been a few hours and I’ve already had enough of all of this shit. And you know what I’m referring to, meaning you’re probably sick of it too.

I wish there was a warning growing up about how hard it would be to remain “productive” and not just suddenly shut down/start screaming when the reality of everything everywhere starts to hit and the awfulness of it all comes into focus. 🙃

MAGA: We want all the immigrants deported & eggs to be cheaper! America first!

Trump: Actually, we’re gonna hire immigrants for all the tech jobs & it’s too hard to make groceries cheaper, but we are gonna take over Greenland & Canada to help Putin!

MAGA: Works for me!!!

(Fucking idiots).

38 Republicans voted with Democrats tonight, but that is somehow our fault.

Right-wing Republicans joined with Democrats.

That means your bill sucked.

And you excluded Dems from negotiations.

But the Party of Personal Responsibility NEVER takes personal responsibility. EVER.

They should forever been known as the party of taking.

They’re literally incapable of building, giving or leaving the world a slightly better place. They are more than content to take, destroy or demolish even if just out of spite.
They cut pediatric cancer research out of the bill after President Musk got involved.

Pediatric cancer research.

Merry Christmas.

Republicans couldn’t even pass a bill to keep the government open that they negotiated with themselves—after blowing up a bipartisan deal with Democrats because Elon Musk and Trump told them to. And then 38 Republicans voted against their own bill. 🤡

Being on social media as a normal person is kind of like riding the subway I guess. Or sitting in a busy park. Hearing, (reading) snippets of conversations. Some meaningful, others silly. Witnessing absolute gems and then complete garbage. What a ride.
