A lot of people cannot grasp that their own personal and individual experience of the world is not universal, and they are totally comfortable showing immense cruelty to those whose experiences diverge from their own. This applies to so many issues that affect vulnerable people & it's a real shame!

It’s really disheartening to see trans users having to step back from Bluesky because of the influx of transphobic harassment. Trans posters built the culture of this platform and it would behoove cis allies to advocate for their safety as Bluesky expands and they get targeted

COVID is the leading cause of death from infectious disease in children and currently ppl are taking zero precautions to prevent those deaths. The lack of MMR vax uptake is downstream from that. If u aren’t currently masking, ur contributing to the normalization of mass disease/death incl among kids
I legit think the cynical promotion of this this is one of the most brazen acts of public evil I’ve ever seen because there is *no tradeoff* in any way that counts, there’s no complicated externality, it’s just fucking letting people, mainly children die for the hell of it.

I get the pushback to Bluesky in that it further bifurcates our media ecosystem. But at this point, Twitter’s content moderation is so nonexistent and its verified users so extreme that the choice becomes either move away from Twitter or be subjected to straight up 4chan nazi bile on a daily basis.
