Loved this NPR review of A DANGEROUS FICTION! "Barbara Rogan cleverly explores our capacity for self-deception and weaves it into an absorbing mystery that keeps its secret until the very end.” amzn.to/2eda9cJ

Aging Americans gradually lose their sense of sight, smell, hearing. They lose teeth. They're prone to diseases of aging, including cancer and heart disease, and can die of a broken hip.

OTOH, they get Medicare. Fair tradeoff.

Imagine if all Americans had access. #MedicareForAll

I have one thing to say about waking up to petro-kidnapping: I spent many years listening to the stories and inner lives of the soldiers who fought the last petro-war. I wish devoutly that we wouldn't do that to a new generation. Fake-o wars damage and kill real soldiers.

It would, wouldn't it? Whatever happened to Congress? It doesn't seem so long ago that we had 3 functional branches of government. Now we have 1 non-functional branch.
It would be so cool if the United States Congress still existed.

All the latin speaking Soccer/Football nations should boycott the US World Cup right now. If we don't even follow our own laws we obviously will ignore the international ones. This makes us a rogue nation. Make America Great, my ass. He has turned us into a damn untrustworthy POS

People on X are replying to photos w/ a very specific kind of request. “Put her in a bikini,” “take her dress off,” “spread her legs,” & so on, they told Grok.

I cannot emphasize how serious an assault on democracy this is. Any effort by the Trump administration to engage in false claims of fraud or mass voter suppression relies on this as a building block. As importantly, there is no legitimate reason DOJ would want this information.
🚨BREAKING: The Department of Justice (DOJ) sued Georgia, Illinois, Wisconsin and Washington, D.C. Thursday for unfettered access to the states’ voter registration records. The federal government has now filed lawsuits against 21 states, plus D.C.

This is a developing story...

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.
