There are many things to be thankful for this holiday season (although I often have to remind myself about this given the state of our country), but one I am thrilled about is seeing @guster.bsky.social with the PSO in 2026!

This is senseless and so sad for the innocent infants who succumbed to a horrible death gasping for air. We recommend a pertussis booster to pregnant people in the third trimester to pass on antibodies to infants and that everyone who comes in contact with the baby be up-to-date. Please
vaccinate!
Another baby has just died of whooping cough in Kentucky, thanks to RFK Jr. and his merry band of anti-vaxxers.

My feeling toward RFK Jr. and the Republican Senators who confirmed him is utter contempt.
Third Kentucky infant dies from whooping cough as statewide cases surge
A third Kentucky infant has died from whooping cough in the last 12 months, the Kentucky Department for Public Health said Monday.

Zero vaccines are “injected directly into the bloodstream”

Approved vaccines are:
• Intramuscular
• Subcutaneous
• Intradermal
• Oral
• Intranasal

No approved vaccines are administered intravenously.

Hope that helps 🙃

Vaccine-preventable diseases are unimpressed with your consumption of beef tallow and peptides and supplements in lieu of vaccines.

1/ Sorry for the paywall, but this is a very informative article. I’ve observed this happening in my community where outside hate groups have mobilized to try and force the school board to change policies to strip trans students of their rights and roll back DEI, but the degree to which these

The Gardiner-area school board is one of many across the state being confronted with organized, sometimes disruptive, efforts to remake education.

So many things wrong with this story. The summary is the patient found a tick, had a telehealth consult with the company her insurance contracts with who prescribed a treatment (more about that to come) and also advised an in-person evaluation, which insurance then denied b/c there was no PA.

As a direct primary care physician, I don’t accept insurance, and yet I know how important it is for patients to have affordable healthcare for emergencies and anything beyond the scope of outpatient family medicine. I’m deeply disappointed in Sen Angus King. He screwed us all.

Attention, Susan Collins.

And Jared Golden. The graphic says any Republican supporting drumpf needs to see the writing on the wall, but just because Golden claims to be a Democrat, that won’t protect him against his record in the primary.

It’s a beautiful day to wake up in Maine!

Voters rejected restrictions on absentee voting disguised as a “voter ID” measure.

Voters passed a red flag law to prevent senseless gun deaths.

The tides are turning!

Maine friends: make time to vote!

* NO on 1 (save absentee voting!)

* YES on 2 (save lives by allowing guns to be held when there is a credible concern for safety)

I am, once again, asking folks to put aside their differences over the senate race in Maine for this weekend as we stare down Question 1 on Tuesday. We must protect absentee voting so that Mainers continue to have an easily accessible and secure way to vote.

Vote No on Question 1.

“The Ballroom Thieves” is a very fitting name for a band these days…. Vote No on 1 to save absentee voting in Maine!

(Yes, I am aware of the Platner problems. I support all efforts to bring attention to Question 1, especially the artists playing this event!)
Join us for a concert and rally featuring The Ballroom Thieves and Griffin William Sherry as we fight to SAVE ABSENTEE VOTING IN MAINE!

Afterwards we’ll be knocking on doors before the critical November 4 referendum.

Thanks for the heads up about a delivery of norovirus to Portland….. FYI - hand sanitizer does not work against these bugs. Soap, water, and bleach are your friends, but don’t ingest or inject the bleach because you are not dumb unlike the Felon in Chief.
ALERT: Work in tourist biz in #Portland, like food service, or clerk/shop in the Old Port, or work/visit downtown?

Be aware there is a cruise ship docking on Sunday carrying the very contagious novovirus.

Novovirus is spread a variety of ways:

Vaccine requirements protect not just the children of those willing to sacrifice their own kids to vaccine-preventable illnesses because they “did their research,” but also the entire classroom who are now exposed, including kids or teachers who are immunocompromised. Vaccines save lives.
More than 420 state bills attacking key public health protections have been introduced in 2025. Around 30 bills in 12 states have already been enacted or adopted.

#Maine has one of the highest voter turnouts in the country. Let’s keep it that way! Restricting voting rights—by limiting housebound seniors’ and disabled Mainers’ access to absentee ballots—is beneath us.

Firefighter/paramedics rely on absentee voting because they often work long shifts on Election Day and can't get out of work to vote. Question 1 on the November ballot would restrict our ability to vote absentee. VOTE NO ON 1!

As a DPC doc, I'd love to see a trial of EBT payments by Maine Medicaid (Mainecare)

It needs to be very simple though to work for DPC. That's hard for government bureaucracies used to fee for service and "quality" measures

The most heartwarming thing I saw today was the lone protestor on his own front lawn in rural Maine (CD2). Everyone knows everyone here and this took guts. He wasn’t there when we drove by on our way home from Bridgton, but I salute him and thank him for speaking up. #NoKings

Saw some good friends making good trouble in Bridgton, Maine. The family that protests together stays together (though our oldest elected to head to Portland, we video chatted during the events). #NoKings
