I am tempted to go on a longer discussion of this but I am on vacation. But as someone who leads the design department and hires and mentors designers, using chatGPT to write your design specs is antithetical to the role and job responsibilities of a designer.

Metroid Prime 4 is good.

That's honestly all I can say about it so far as I descend into what I sense is the late-game.

It's visually gorgeous, it's fun, it brought back Sylux after DECADES of anticipation, but it also makes some VERY questionable level design choices.

Solid 8/10 honestly.

- make CGI trailer for game that functionally doesn't exist yet
- start whole new studio to make it
- spend year(s) hiring
- no work gets done for years because you have no staff yet and are STARTING A WHOLE NEW STUDIO
- ?????
- cancel the project

Classic strategy, lets see if it works this time!
Last night's biggest surprise was Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, led by Casey Hudson, who directed KOTOR (and Anthem). Exciting news for lots of people... but Lucasfilm says the studio was founded this year, which means that 2030 is an *optimistic* guess. Maybe it'll be a PlayStation 7 game

Fucking incredible dystopian shit, comparing super rich people risking millions if not billions of lives just to make more money to people that risked their life actually building incredible things that would then make millions of dollars for super rich people.

Woke is when you pick a font
Marco Rubio ordered diplomats to return to using Times New Roman font in official communications, calling his predecessor's decision to adopt Calibri a “wasteful” diversity move

Imagine wasting that much money on a pet project and not only do you keep your job but you get a bigger bonus than ever. I literally cannot imagine this even though it's exactly what these execs get. The privilege of fucking up repeatedly with zero consequences.

My brain knows it to be a fact that Metroid Prime 4 comes out tomorrow but my soul has not yet internalized the fact

Just started reading Watership Down. Never heard anything about it other than the title before. My vague guess at its plot- that a ship of some kind has crashed- has been debunked. Watership Down is a place. I've been bamboozled. Everything is a lie. Plot twist of the century.

Always funny when you can pinpoint the exact moment a YouTuber articulated a specific criticism because all of a sudden every discussion has it come up with identical phrasing when no one has mentioned it before.

I folded and used microsoft's chatgpt to ask it how to turn off its "AI designer" tool that keeps stealing input and giving me suggestions every time I paste an image into powerpoint and it gave me detailed, confident instructions that fail on the very first line

I am so tired of this

Riddle me this, Trump administration: if laying off hundreds of thousands of people and crippling our economy and kneecapping our infrastructure was so cost-effective and saved so much money, how come you're making an emergency appeal saying you're fresh out of money for SNAP benefits?

It's so cool that Google discontinued the Chromecast , which retailed for $60, and then made the Google TV Streamer which is the exact same thing, except it has a worse name, has useless AI garbage built into it, and retails for $100. Awesome. Amazing.

Star Wars has been trying to provide dedicated comic relief characters for decades and yet, in almost 50 years of media, I truly believe nothing has ever been as genuinely gut-bustingly funny as Luthen Rael saying "We should've killed Krennic while we were in there."

I for one am *very* excited to play a version of Combat Evolved with updated level design and modern cutscene capabilities. Original is a landmark in videogame history but dang some of those levels and story beats really show their age.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a full remake of Halo: Combat Evolved's story with new missions, content, and features. It will also be the first Halo game to come to PlayStation in addition to Xbox and PC. Read our hands-on impressions here: gameinformer.com/2025/10/24/h...

I can't wait for this stupid investment bubble to pop and absolutely obliterate every company that bought into its blast radius.

Utterly useless tech that is getting shoved down our throats cause CEOs are desperate for a return on the cash they got conned out of.
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Finally rewatched Rogue One after finishing Andor, and honestly one of my biggest takeaways as Cassian and Jyn were leaving that tower was "Haha. In a way, I guess Luthen ended up getting Krennic after all."
