Had to fix my 6-year-old car's broken air conditioning a few months ago.
It was $1000 dollars.
$100 for labor, NINE HUNDRED for the SINGLE part they replaced.
Because the part is made exclusively by Ford, so they set the price.
And there went 9 months of my savings.
Fuck America.

The fact that a portion of my taxes goes to US Senators recieving an 80k furnishing stipend for their Capitol hill offices when they all know damn well they already have PLENTY of money... really just tells me everything I need to know about this government's priorities.

I'm theorerically supposed to make like 2.5k per paycheck. After being gouged for taxes (scam), insurance (scam), utilities (gouged), groceries (gouged), and rent (rises every year for no fucking reason) I walk away with literally like 100 dollars.

I am tempted to go on a longer discussion of this but I am on vacation. But as someone who leads the design department and hires and mentors designers, using chatGPT to write your design specs is antithetical to the role and job responsibilities of a designer.
