I'm going to experiment with a Substack blog in place of the underused blogs on my main website - let's see how it goes.
This first post is about how my dad's photos have been used in disinformation in Spain, and how Spanish media organisations are fact-checking it.

Absolute peak enshittification, here. Unbelievable. "We've decided to hide the standard functionality of our previous product – you know, the thing you depend on – and put it in a drop-down menu that you're unlikely to find"
This is in no way apologism for Google but click Search Tools and select "Verbatim". It makes it work how you expect

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

WALL OF THORNS: On the west coast of Scotland, facing out across the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran, stands the only functioning salt-making tower in the world. @countrylifemag.bsky.social
'One of the most amazing things in terms of food in this country' — How a tower of thorns makes salt
Made with wind, sea and thorns on the wild west coast of Scotland, Blackthorn Salt brings surprising health benefits, as well as being a unique example of sustainable craftsmanship.

A good #archery session today - a Portsmouth score of 482/600, which I think is my equal second best ever.
Key learning was slowing down a little, which paid immediate dividends.

Beef Carbonnade tonight, with a decadently rich (Joel Robuchon-stylee) mash.
We used Mort Subite beer in it.

Just remembered something rather touching about "Asterix in Belgium". Goscinny died halfway through work on it, so for the rest of the book, to mark the exact point of his passing, Uderzo has drawn either rain, or darkened, lowering skies into pretty much every panel.

In German, there is an expression for a thing, an item or an person that is the solution to all your problems, which has only pros and no cons, a remedy to all your needs, the so-called "eierlegende Wollmilchsau", which means "egg-laying woolmilksow". 😁
