Notiz an mich: Will man für die Vorlesung einen zitierten Artikel in der (so von mir vermutet) BILD finden, dann sollte man nicht in allen Fällen das Zitat + Bild vom Arbeitsrechner aus googlen.

What is the most profitable industry in the world, this side of the law? Not oil, not IT, not pharma.

It's *scientific publishing*.

We call this the Drain of Scientific Publishing.

How can organisors even ask to send/upload conference presentations two days in advance! Don't they know how disruptive it is for me to take a train two days earlier just to finish my presentation?

Hi fellow PIs, how do you feel with all the leadership / managing tasks that were bestowed onto you at some point? Did you get formal training? Did you seek any training? Are you following any principles/guidance or are you just winging it and hope for the best?

Übersehe ich da etwas bzw gibt es da wirklich einen Zusammenhang?

William Wollaston, who discovered the absorption lines in the sun spectrum (Fraunhofer lines) in 1802 also casually discovered the amino acid cystein (or rather cystein) in 1810. Oh and inbetween he discovered rhodium and palladium.

I bet he didn't have to do any admin
