Sometimes the combination of arrogance and ignorance is breathtaking. Yes, US health care has high admin costs; that's because it relies so much on private insurers. Govt-run health insurance has much lower overhead

A key to understanding her is that none of this is posturing, or acting on bad advice, or mistaking a narrow demographic for the country as a whole, this is just who she is. This is how she acts with everybody regardless of their status, high or low, or their take on politics. She's true to herself.
The Tories have 121 MPs. How many of them do we think could do a better job than Badenoch is doing at the moment? How many are we absolutely certain would do a worse job?
Kemi Badenoch calls on Keir Starmer to resign because of an online petition.

Starmer: "We had a massive petition on the Fourth of July in this country.

"We spent years taking our party from a party of protest to a party of government. They're hurtling in the opposite direction."

I'm sorry but I don't think you can do "oh the Dems didn't talk about this one issue I love so that's why they lost" in *this* election, democracy was and is on the line, Trump is a horrible man who ran a horrible campaign, sometimes you have to just face the reality of the electorate being awful

I'm a broken record on this but a 2nd Trump presidency makes it even more important that big liberal cities become places that build enough housing to accept the internal & international migration they've been pricing out for decades

Voting locations in Georgia planned, with a court order, to stay open a little later since they had to close due to bomb threats that originated from “Russian email domains.”

At the state & federal level the GOP is fighting the decision.

Its core strategy is to make fewer votes count.

The big story tonight is Russia’s overt attack on America’s election - they didn’t even try to hide it - yet it’s being hugely underreported.

This is a huge deal - a superpower intervention to help Trump win.

And let me add what should be an obvious point: Democratic voting is being targeted by terrorist threats in, AFAIK, GA, MI, PA, and AZ.

Some of the most Democratic places will delay reporting because Trump's friends have called in terrorist threats.
Folks, I shouldn't have to say this, but I don't think a single Dem urban area has been counted in GA, NC, OH, PA, or MI.

Hold your jets. It ALWAYS takes time (and MKE in WI will take especially long tonight).

Time to boycott, bro-cut, Florida

Florida's abortion rights measure failed to clear its required 60% threshold, DDHQ projects.

The first post-Dobbs abortion measure not to pass, despite being supported by most Floridians.

The state's 6-week ban will stay.

Florida voters fail to beat 60% threshold for abortion ballot measure
The measure, which would guarantee a right to abortion to the point of fetal viability, needs 60 percent support to pass.

Re-upping this: the votes have been cast. The counts are just us discovering what has already happened.
This is super important: by presenting vote counts as "surges" or "come from behind" or whatever, it creates a narrative that the act of counting votes determines who wins and, therefore, vote counters themselves are impacting the outcome.

I know the “unknown number” call is scary, but maybe answer it tonight, Nevada!!!
In Nevada, the GOP is succeeding in throwing out the votes of thousands of young people. If you're in Clark or Washoe county, answer your phone tonight. It may be election officials, calling to cure the defect in your mailed-in ballot.

I followed this list of regional politics-knowers back on Twitter who were fascinating to read on election nights, like old-guard regional newspaper writers who could decode what turnout in a specific county might mean. Does anyone have a list or feed over here like that? Who should I be following?
