In Florida the citizens got an amendment to the constitution that new maps must be every 10 years and approved by independent committees. Desantis is skirting this and of course the GOP led legislature is now considering it

ICE has been taking the position nationwide that its field offices, and the detention cells therein, are not facilities "operated by or for [DHS] used to detain or otherwise house aliens," on the argument that the facilities are "processing areas" and therefore not covered detention facilities.
