Just read: The Strength of the Few by James Islington. My most anticipated book of 2025, 100% lived up to the hype. A deep book about the morality of power, how our environment shapes us, grief, friendship, and vengeance. An absolute blast and deeply moving. You WILL love it. 5/5⭐ #booksky #fantasy

SNAP is a lifeline for workers in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

Just read: Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. I'd call it 'subtle scifi' as there's a speculative hook, but it's really about love, friendship, and finding meaning with what limited time we have. A beautiful and haunting story, tho I prefer Ishiguro's Buried Giant a smidge more 4/5⭐ #Booksky #books

81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

Just finished: Diavola by Jennifer Thorne. Had some chilling moments. Characters are truly awful in a fun way. Some tension is lost when we change settings. For lovers of haunted houses👻, Italy🍝, and nightmare families. 3/5⭐ #booksky #italy #familydrama #horror

I recently read: Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix. Killer spooky season vibes 🎃. Smart, funny characters. Body horror. Witch stuff. Shines a light 💡 on a widely forgotten part of our pre-Roe society. Horror with a heart. 5/5⭐ #booksky #horror #witches

The GOP is a malignant tumor and it is metastasizing.
"They referred to Black people as monkeys and 'the watermelon people' and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies and driving them to suicide and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery."

An extremely accurate assessment of the times we find ourselves living through: "his ascent was the product of a lot of powerful people who once denounced him forsaking their purported ideals for an inside shot at a windfall. His movement is powered by a willingness to sell out."
